The Queue screen (preview)
The Queue screen layout — one Live menu item with tabs (Queue, My booth, Rooms, At a glance), History, Set up and Screens & signs — and how to turn it on or off for a location.
Available to Staff; Set up, Screens & signs and turning the layout on or off need a Location Admin
The Queue screen is a simpler layout for a location. Everything you do during the day sits under one Live menu item with tabs, and everything you configure sits under one Set up item. Your QR codes, links and data are the same in both layouts — only the menus differ.
The menu
| Menu item | What it is | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Your location's share links, screen links and weekly numbers (when your account has it — see Overview & set-up guides) | Everyone |
| Live | The tabs below — where you serve people | Everyone |
| History (Records) | Visits and Customers tabs — replaces the classic Tickets and Customers items | Everyone |
| Reports, Activity (Records) | Reports has a tab per serving style (Overview, Line or Take-a-number, Rooms) | Admins |
| Set up | All configuration in one place, including Screens & signs | Admins |
On the classic menus the same pages are separate items: Dashboard (or My booth + Queue at a take-a-number location), Walk-in, Rooms & equipment, Tickets, Customers, Settings, QR code (or QR & print) and Display board (or Now-serving board).
The Live tabs
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Queue | Everyone, every stage. At a line location it's the board where you move people along. At a take-a-number location it's view only — call and serve from My booth. |
| My booth (your word: My window, My counter…) | Take-a-number only: take a booth, call the next number, serve, finish. |
| Rooms | Only when you have rooms: who has each room, time left, who's waiting. Admins get Edit rooms →. |
| At a glance | A summary: waiting, being served, rooms in use, check-ins today (done and average wait), every booth, every room, the latest check-ins, and a 📺 Show on a TV strip. |
The tab bar starts with a box, How you serve · pick one, holding both styles. The style in use has a ●, an In use label and its tabs (🧾 Line → Queue; 🎫 Take-a-number → My booth · Queue). The other style has a ○ and, for admins, a Use Line or Use Take-a-number button (staff see Not in use). Then comes + 🚪 Rooms (rooms work with either style; admins see 🚪 + Add rooms until there are some), then 📊 At a glance.
Every Live tab has the same buttons on the right:
- + Add visitor — adds a walk-in, then brings you straight back to the tab you were on ("#N added to the line."). See Add a walk-in.
- Pause check-ins / Resume — stops new online check-ins for a while; your live queue keeps working.
- Show on a TV ↗ — opens your lobby screen (the now-serving screen at a take-a-number location) in a new tab.
- Setup: N steps left → (admins, until setup is done; then Setup: ready ✓) — opens Set up.
On phones, + Add visitor stays visible and the rest move under More ⋯.
With two or more booths, My booth also shows an All booths strip: who is at each booth, who they're serving, and who's on a break. Admins can Release a booth a colleague left open.
Where you land
Live opens My booth at a take-a-number location and the Queue at a line location — for everyone, owners included. Signing in lands you on the same page. At a location with only one booth, opening My booth takes that booth for you; tap End shift when you leave.
Switch between Line and Take-a-number
- An admin taps Use Line or Use Take-a-number in the tab bar (or opens Set up).
- In How people are served here, tap the button again and confirm.
Your QR codes and links stay the same. Turning Take-a-number on switches the location to take-a-number stages; switching back to Line puts your previous line stages back. Take-a-number may not be on every plan — the card says Not on your current plan if so. See Turn on windowed mode.
Set up: everything you configure
Set up answers the owner's questions in order:
- How people are served here — Line or Take-a-number, plus 🚪 Rooms & equipment (Add rooms → or Manage rooms →), and a What you need to serve people list (✓ done, ○ to do, – optional).
- Cards that open the page that changes each thing: Check-in form · Services & stages · Customer updates · Team & logins · Screens & signs · Your business & advanced. Each shows Done, To do or Optional.
The cards open Settings, which is split into tabs: Your business · Check-in form · Customer updates · Services & stages · Team & logins · Advanced. The Check-in form tab shows What your customer sees — your real form in a phone frame. The save button stays at the bottom of the screen while you scroll.
Rooms: adding and editing rooms, minutes per person, the shared "any free room" QR and the door signs are in Set up → Rooms & equipment. Live → Rooms only shows what's happening.
Screens & signs
Set up → Screens & signs (admins) has every screen you can put up and every sign you print.
- Screens — Lobby screen, Rooms screen (with rooms), Check-in tablet (take-a-number only), a Door screen per room, and Staff sign-in (the sign-in page for a shared login on a booth tablet or front-desk computer). Each shows a small picture, what it shows, where it goes, and Recommended when it suits your location. Each has Open ↗, Copy link and a QR code to open it on that device; the lobby screen and check-in tablet also have Replace link (the old link stops working).
- Signs to print — the Entrance sign (Download PDF, PDF with your logo, QR as PNG, QR as SVG, Copy link), Room door signs (all rooms in one PDF), and a Check-in button for your website.
One QR for everything: if your location has rooms, the entrance QR first asks What would you like? — Join the line → (or Take a number →), First free room → when the shared room QR is on, or a specific room (Free now, N waiting or In use). Your printed QR codes don't change.
What visitors see follows your style: at a take-a-number location the form is titled Take a number and its button says Get my number; at a line location the button says Check in.
Turn the Queue screen on or off
An admin ticks or unticks Use the Queue screen (marked Preview) and saves:
- Classic menus: Settings → Basics.
- Queue screen: Set up → Your business & advanced → Your business tab → Basics.
You can switch any time. Nothing else changes — your links, QR codes, tickets and settings stay the same.
