Privacy, consent & age confirmation
What customers are told about their data, how marketing consent is recorded, and the optional age confirmation.

The privacy disclosure (always on)
Every check-in and room-reservation form shows a short line: "By joining the queue you agree to your business using your details to manage your spot", with a link to the privacy notice. This is not optional — it's how customers know who is handling their information. Your business decides its own broader privacy policy; SiteCheckin processes the data on your behalf.
Marketing consent
The check-in form includes a marketing opt-in checkbox. It's never pre-ticked and never required to join the queue. Change its wording under Privacy, display & consent → Coupon / marketing consent text (Queue screen: Set up → Check-in form; classic menus: Settings). Leave it blank to use the default.
When a customer ticks it, SiteCheckin creates a consent record — the exact wording, when, and where it was submitted — your evidence of consent. A customer who adds an email from their status page (Get email updates) is recorded the same way.
Viewing consent records: open Activity in the menu (admins) and switch to the Consent log tab. Each customer's profile also shows their own Consent history.
Permanently deleting a customer (with all their history) is a full erasure, so it removes their consent records too.
Age confirmation (optional, off by default)
For locations that serve minors alongside adults (a library's study rooms, for example), you can require a self-confirmation checkbox before check-in and room reservations:
- Open Check-in options (Queue screen: Set up → Check-in form; classic menus: Settings).
- Tick Require an age confirmation on check-in & reservations and, if you like, enter your own wording (leave it blank for the default: "I am 18 or older, or a parent/guardian is completing this for me.").
- Select Save profile & check-in settings.
This is a self-attestation, not an ID check — minors with a guardian can still proceed. Each confirmed check-in stores the time the box was ticked.
