Run a test check-in before going live
A safe end-to-end test that proves the customer flow and your live queue work — and how to clean up after it.
Available to Staff (cleanup needs the live queue or the ticket page)
Steps
- Open your check-in link in a private/incognito browser window (so you see it as a customer). The
address is
https://sitecheckin.net/your-location-name— the same page your QR code opens. - Select Check in online. If your location uses the Queue screen and has rooms, you're first asked What would you like? — choose Join the line → (or Take a number →).
- Fill in your own name and phone, and use your real email so you can see the tracking email. Select Check in (take-a-number locations: Get my number).
- You should land on a page showing You're checked in!, Your number (like #1), a YOUR STATUS panel, and 🔔 Alert me when it's my turn. When staff call you, the page fills the screen with It's your turn.
- Check your inbox for the "You're checked in" email with the same number and a View my status link.
- In another browser, sign in as staff and open your queue — classic menus: Dashboard; Queue screen: Live (Queue for a line, My booth/My window for take-a-number). Your test ticket should appear within a second or two — no refresh needed.
- Move the ticket forward (line: its action buttons; take-a-number: call it from My booth) and watch the customer page update by itself. When you reach their turn (e.g. Start task in the default flow, Table ready, or a call to your booth), the page shows It's your turn full-screen and an "It's your turn" email arrives.
Clean up
Either select Cancel my check-in on the customer page (works while the ticket is still in the first stage), or finish it from the staff side: complete and close it, mark it No-show, or open the ticket and select Cancel visit.
If something didn't work
