Roles & permissions

What Staff, Admin, and Owner can do at a location — and how business roles cascade to every location.

Location roles

Ability Staff Admin Owner
Work the queue: Live / Dashboard, add visitors, move tickets, notes, rooms (extend, end, no-show) ✓ ✓ ✓
Search visits and customers (History, or Tickets + Customers); add customer notes ✓ ✓ ✓

Staff don't see Reports, Activity, Set up or Settings in their menu. Plans and billing are handled at the business level (see below), not by location roles.

Business roles

A business role automatically grants a role at every location in that business:

  • Business viewer — business-level reports only (Overview and Resources in the business console, plus Reports once there are 2+ locations); no access to any location's queue.
  • Business admin — acts as Admin at every location, plus creates/adopts locations, manages the business team and business settings, sees the business-wide Customers directory (2+ locations), and can view the Plan page.
  • Business owner — acts as Owner everywhere, plus changes the plan and billing, removes (releases) locations, and deletes the business.

Roles are additive: if someone has both a direct location role and a business role, the higher one wins at that location. Roles in one business grant nothing in any other business.

Switching between locations

If you can reach two or more locations — directly or through a business admin/owner role — you can switch without going back to your home page: use the location menu in the top bar (Queue-screen locations: the 📍 location name with ▾) or the location card at the top of the sidebar (classic menus). Switching keeps you on the same page (Reports → Reports, Settings → Settings) when that page exists at the other location and your role allows it; otherwise you land on its main screen.
